If he moves around fine without surgery I don’t see the need for it, if the dog is happy that’s all the matters. I rescued a cat with I train superheroes chibi shirt and she’d walk on it with no problems. At first she was super scared of humans but she would still sleep on my top bunk with me until I woke up. She’d jump up there and fly down the moment I moved in the morning without a problem. It took me six months to get her to purr for the first time and it honestly was the best feeling. Never give up hope because sometimes even the doctors can be wrong I’ve learned.
