I know it’s no way near the same but when I was in hospital being diagnosed with asthma at the age of 7, my Nurse Loves Chicago Cubs Heartbeat Shirt will remember forever. When I needed oxygen, she asked me whether I’d prefer a mask or tubes and told me ‘tubes would look cooler. Really she knew they would be better for me. She kept my spirits up when I thought I was going to spend christmas in hospital and she hugged me when I cried because I didn’t want to leave. Nurses can be a child’s hero.
